Rev. Anne Weirich, Bridge Pastor

Rev. Anne Weirich is an Honorably Retired Pastor in the Presbyterian Church USA. She has served Presbyterian and UCC churches in MA, MI, CA and OH. Her focus has been on mission and issues of homelessness, poverty, LGBTQ inclusion and embrace, addiction and civil discourse and the ecumenical, interfaith and civic interconnections that build community and understanding.
Anne loves to explore. Her love for God’s mission in the world has taken her all over the States and into world with the church. Anne’s real love is Palestine and Israel. Since 2008 she has traveled there 18 times, searching for God’s fingerprints on her life, advocating for justice, and opening the way of discovery for others.
Rev. Anne retired to the Cape in 2019, moving into a home she purchased during her first call in Harwich in 1998. She’s involved in her community as secretary of the Brewster Library Association and a member of the Brewster Cultural Council. When not working, most of Anne’s time is taken up with friends, visitors, gardening and yard work. She loves to scrounge around in estate sales, antique and thrift shops. Music appreciation and theater are also high on her list. Sometimes she does a little watercolor painting. Most of all, gathering people around a table for a good meal and conversation and laughter is her idea of an evening or afternoon well spent.
The first words in Anne’s statement of faith are: “I believe that God is love.” “I love the way God smiles at me,” she claims. “And what keeps ministry and faith alive for me is being there when others finally experience that smile, too.” During such a time as this, when God’s love is needed more than ever, she’s very glad to be among the people in Swansea, preaching, teaching, caring and celebrating the good news.
